An excellent opportunity for a highly experienced, commercial Talent Manager has become available for a private equity backed organisation. You will be responsible for defining the Talent strategy and work collaboratively alongside the L&D, OD & Reward specialists. The Talent Management strategy aims to improve employee capabilities, reduce succession risks, retain key people and ensure the organisation has the range of skills needed for continued success in the future . Notably, there hasn't been a dedicated focus on talent before, so this is a blank canvass for someone to make their mark!

This role will work closely with the Learning and Development Manager, allowing the two roles to work in sync. The Head of Talent will be more closely aligned to the top 30/40 business leaders and apply a more in-depth focus across the following:

Succession Planning & Board Reports

-High level experience in board succession planning will be a prerequisite for this appointment. Due to FCA regulations, there are certain roles that cannot be directly accounted for, therefore strategic interventions will need to be put in place. You will also be responsible for career mapping exercises with senior leaders which will be summarised in board reports. Therefore, excellent writing & presentation skills will also be important

Managing Graduates / Apprentices

-The Apprentice Levy will impact the organisation, therefore the incoming Talent Manager will have responsibility for managing the initiatives associated with the Levy, and the remaining graduate program across the group.

Senior & Executive Resourcing

- responsible for a proactive talent acquisition strategy

Managing Executive Coaching / Mentoring suppliers

- This role will work in a 1:1 capacity with senior leaders, acting as a dedicated coach & mentor. Previous experience of mentoring ExCo members successfully will be required, in addition to high-levels of emotional intelligence required to engage with a diverse client group.

Psychometrics & 360 Feedback

-Experience with Psychometrics in the use of bespoke talent development reports and external recruitment assessments. This will play a key role in board development, cultural development, career mapping and mobility across the organisation.
