A globally established manufacturing organisation are seeking a highly commercial, proactive and engaging HR Manager to join at a highly exciting time for the business, leading a team of capable HR/Payroll professionals in providing a comprehensive generalist service to the organisation.
As HR Manager, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing compliant ‘value-added' HR activity to enable the business to perform in a positive manner, particularly within an environment that seeks continuous improvement. As such a pragmatic, forward-thinking and highly inquisitive HR Manager is required.
Whilst providing a generalist service to the business, the HR Manager will ensure the business attracts and develops talent, encouraging high performance in an affordable way. In addition, the HR Manager will deliver "simple, flexible and effective" services, policies, and programmes while being an advocate of corporate culture and values.
Leading the HR team on an operational basis, this role holds a high profile within the organisation, working closely with senior stakeholders including regular interaction with staff at all levels throughout the business. Due to the nature of the role the HR Manager must enjoy the fast-paced nature of manufacturing and be happy to be present on the shop floor (or direct members of the HR team to have a presence on the shop floor) to maintain visibility and develop positive relationships.
With areas of improvement having been identified within the HR team, the HR Manager will need to be a change agent who can positively influence on those around them (both peers, Managers and team members), and be driven in their approach and attitude in order to ensure that the HR team is able to work more as a partner to the business than it currently is.
HR will also be tasked with ensuring Managers are educated around their own issues to ensure HR can be as proactive as possible. A key focus of this is to ensure that process are followed and done so at pace; HR will need to be a driving force in this and lead on this.
In order to be considered for this role you must:
Have gained experience as a HR Manager within a manufacturing or engineering business;
Have team management experience, including having lead payroll/compensation & benefits team/function;
Be able to work at pace, be out going, bubbly and enthusiastic, with the ability to positively influence and engage with staff at all levels;
Be articulate, able to engage with and challenge senior stakeholders within the business.
