A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Shared Services Manager to lead and manage the HR Service and Payroll teams and provide a high quality customer focused provision of professional HR services.

The post holder will be expected to work with HR colleagues and the wider business to ascertain their needs and improve the appropriate shared service offering and associated service levels. You will be responsible for the delivery, management and continuous improvement of a wide range of vital transactional HR services for clients, ensuring they are cost efficient, effective and client focused, and make the best use of available technologies. You will provide close management of supplier contracts and KPIs, ensuring best value for the company.

This organisation is currently moving towards a culture of empowerment, the Shared Services team plays a large part in this process by ensuring that transactional processes are simple and clear. The process of empowerment will include providing practical training for and coaching of HR Administrators and line managers in the use of the shared service and Manager Self Service.

The post holder will have in-depth hands on experience of the HR life-cycle and be able to adapt, improve and implement processes, policies and models in a practical and straightforward way.

The post holder reports to the Head of Human Resource Services and Integration and they will champion people initiatives, ensuring the systems and processes are in place to support such initiatives.

My client has highlighted three priorities for this role:

1) Experience of overseeing payroll as part of a Head of HRSS position, but also a technical understanding of in-house payroll. Whilst there is a payroll manager, supported by 2 officers, this role will have responsibility for the execution of the successful payroll.

2) Experience of using an enterprise HR system (i.e. 1 of the big 5 such as SAP/ Workday etc). This company currently use oracle, but they would ideally like to have someone who has used a more enterprise based interface

3) True Head of HRSS experience, demonstrating oversight of Payroll, HR Admins & MI. This will require a track record of continuous improvement of process aligned to regulated environments (as this will have an impact on workload)
