Shropshire base with regular travel to London



£45,000 per annum



My client, a third sector organisation with its own trading arm (and limited company), are keen to source a new Head of HR, who will hold responsibility for both the Human Resources and Volunteering departments across 2 sites.



JOB PURPOSE



Reporting into the Director of Finance & Resources, the post-holder will operate as the most senior figure in HR (and part of the senior management team), holding accountability for both managing the HR & Volunteering function alongside developing and delivering HR and Volunteering strategies to inspire and develop the workforce. The successful HR professional will ensure the business meets its key strategic priorities, providing a professional HR service with appropriate policies and procedures in place.



Prior knowledge of the third / leisure / heritage / cultural / charity sector or exposure to Volunteering will be advantageous in line with your application.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



* Work with the Director of Finance and Resources to develop an ‘Inspiring People Strategy' which incorporates HR, Volunteering, work experience and other ways of engaging with people within a diverse and collaborative culture to support the organisation's activities

* Manage all formal and informal HR processes through the entire employee life cycle, ensuring the appropriate frameworks are in place, providing advice and training to line managers and staff as required – this will include processes relating to:

o Performance Management

o Equality & Diversity

o Pay, pensions & contracts

o Job evaluation

o Training & Development (both salaries and voluntary employees)

o Recruitment & Selection

o Employee Relations



* Work with the Volunteering Managers to identify meaningful volunteering opportunities which meet the organisation's strategic objectives (for resourcing and social engagement) and to effectively recruit the right volunteers with the right skills

* Line Management of a team of 5 (HR Manager, 2 HR Assistants and 2 Volunteering Managers across 2 sites)



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



* CIPD qualification / relevant degree

* Experience of leading/managing a HR team

* Excellent stakeholder management skills

* Strong employment law knowledge

* Ability to travel regularly to London

* Prior exposure to charity or similar sector is highly desirable
