Our client is a respected law firm looking for an Early Years - HR Advisor (12mth FTC) to join its HR team in the Birmingham office.
As a firm that prides itself as being commercial, original and creating opportunities for its clients, it is one of the top employers in the West Midlands. Working across a range of sectors the firm work with a client base consisting of SME businesses, family businesses and individuals.
The HR team sit within the Business Services group of the firm. Having gone through a period of change and development they offer a progressive environment with new initiatives in HR which the team will endeavour to roll out over the next 12 months. It is an exciting time to join the Early Years team specifically as the service offering has been recently rolled out, it is an opportunity for an Advisor to take ownership of the service and elevate their career and gain valuable experience leading the initiative over the 12 month period.
The HR team is split into four areas broken down into HR Business Partnering, Learning and Development, Recruitment and HR Operations.
As the Early Years HR Advisor you will be working closely with all areas of the HR team and the wider firm to help provide an exceptional Early Years' service across the firm. The Early Years focus includes Apprenticeships, Graduates and internal development.
Key responsibilities will include:
Actively managing project and/ or supporting the HR Business Partners in delivering the HR agenda in relations to Early Years and helping to deliver organisational change, improve costs, efficiencies
Provide guidance to the business in relation to Early Years and internal development in order to meet key objectives and KPIs as well as providing guidance to staff on career routes and development opportunities
Managing all aspects of the Early Years process including recruitment, supporting and developing the apprenticeship at the firm, supporting the end to end life cycle of those on the Early Years path
Monitoring budgets, rotation of seats, course attendance, administration of paperwork in regards to qualifications and keeping up to date with any industry changes (i.e. SRA and SQE)
Eligible candidates will have:
- A minimum 2 years previous experience as a HR Advisor/ Officer with exposure to Graduate and Apprenticeship processes (Essential)
- Prior experience of working with a HR function in a Professional Services environment (Highly desirable)
- Ideally completed or studying towards a CIPD qualification, (desirable)
- A degree or equivalent
Key competencies you will need include the ability to lead changing processes and continuous improvement, attention to detail, working autonomously and having some flexibility on location when appropriate.
