The ever increasing growth of social networking websites has significant ramifications for employers. Recent press around employees facing disciplinary action or even dismissal for use of social networking sites means that it has never been so important for employers to have clear policies on internet use.

 We have not only seen a rise in cases of internet misuse during the working day but more recently cases involving employees facing disciplinary action for making comments on their private social networking sites which employers have deemed to be damaging or derogatory to the organisation and/ or its employees reputations.

 Advances in technology are having a serious impact on how we communicate both in and out of work and the implications for employers and employees alike are huge.  Ensuring that your business has a talented, astute and knowledgeable HR function has never been more important than today.
